The
Los Gatos
Seventh-day
Adventist
Church
has been at its present location, 57 Broadway since 1926 when the building was purchased from the Christian Science Congregation. History in the 1920’s includes vegetarian cooking classes, which we still conduct and a Christian elementary school no longer on the premises. We still have members who attended that school 70 years ago.
We belong to a sisterhood of 110 Seventh-day Adventist Churches in
Central California
and a world membership of 14 million. We believe with all other Christians, that salvation comes from Christ alone and the Scriptures are the ultimate authority. We derived our name from two cardinal doctrines. That the seventh day of the week is the Bible Sabbath (Ex.20:8-11), since God never changed it and the imminent visible second coming of Christ in the clouds of heaven.
In the 1980’s we remodeled the front of the sanctuary with a garden window. The tranquility of nature points our thoughts to our Creator, the peace that comes only from Jesus, who gave us the gift of the Sabbath as a memorial of His creation and re-creative ability.
